The Order Process to Hire Our Cameras And Lenses
Whilst the ordering experience is similar to that of any online ordering business there are a few additional stages related to the hire nature of our business. Whilst placing your first order with us we require photographic identification & proof of billing address. For all orders we require proof of 'hired-in equipment' insurance cover, if you don't have this already go to https://performance-insurance.com where you can purchase short term or annual cover and there's actually not much difference between them.
To help explain the steps of placing an order with us (particularly for the first time) please see the step by step guide below:
1. Shop and select hire dates of use
Find the equipment you'd like and select the dates of hire for when you'll be using the equipment (this can be for just one day) . Add to shopping cart and go to checkout. Please note we have a £30 minimum order (before shipping).
2. Create Account during checkout - upload ID
Please upload your ID documents. If you are already an existing customer please just log-in to your account during checkout.
3. Upload proof of 'hired-in equipment' insurance
If you do not have insurance covering 'hired-in equipment' for the hire period (including the day before and the day after the hire) we recommend purchasing with 'Performance Film & Media Insurance' (short-term and annual policies start from £28 and there's not much difference between 'short term' and 'annual' policies so get quotes for both).

4. Credit or debit card deposit 'hold'
1 day before your hire equipment is due to be dispatched or collected in person we will call you to take a £1000 deposit 'hold' on your preferred credit and debit card. This is mainly to protect us against theft and upon safe return of the equipment to us we will release this deposit amount from hold.
5. Equipment Delivery
Using premium couriers your equipment will arrive with you one working day before your hire starts. Alternatively, if you are collecting from Limelight Camera And Lens Hire in person, please collect the day before your hire starts. Please keep the packaging for returning the kit to us.
6. Return Equipment
After you’ve finished with your hire period, package the equipment back into the original packaging. On the next working day our courier will collect the package from you, or you can return it back to us in person.

Now that you have a verified account with us you can simply place you next hire order without the need for any further ID uploads, just login during checkout.
